  • Siam Paragon, MBK, Siam Center, Siam Discovery and Central World

VIE Hotel Bangkok, MGallery by Sofitel is located right in the heart of the city’s business district, within walking distance to the most famous shopping malls, with the nearest being the much acclaimed high-end Siam Paragon.

Siam Paragon includes a range of brand-name stores and restaurants as well as a comfy multiplex (with 15 large screen cinemas), the amazing Sea Life Bangkok Ocean World aquarium, an exhibition hall, the Thai Art Gallery, and an opera concert hall. It also offers a bowling alley and karaoke centre.

  • Jim Thompson House

The Jim Thompson House holds the fascinating art collection of American silk entrepreneur and architect, Jim Thompson, its designer and former owner. Built in 1959, the museum is a composite of traditional Thai homes and promises an intriguing and peaceful visit. The gift shop offers some lovely silk souvenirs to take back home.

  • Rot Fai Market Ratchada

The Rot Fai Market on Ratchada Road is a vibrant night bizarre scene and here you can find everything from trendy clothes to antiques and curios, as well as a wide range of street food snacks and hearty meals. Access is easy via the nearby Cultural Centre MRT Subway Station.

The market is comprised of long rows, with the antiques, secondhand toys, and kitsch curios found in the central rows, while the outer rows offer more general clothing, shoes, handbags, and all kinds of delectable snack stalls. At the back of the market are a row of busy pubs, each with their own theme, but often decorated with fairy lights and pumping out an energetic mix of Thai and Western pop. It is a convivial atmosphere and a great place to meet both locals and other travelers or expats.
