It really can seem almost overwhelming how much there actually is to do and see in this fabulous city, a place like no other in the world. Pages and pages can be found on the internet with the simplest of searches, detailing all the sights and activities you can imagine in this jewel of the Orient, the City of Angels. Entire books have been written about this very subject, attempting to describe them all.
Nonetheless, the big question remains: how to get around and experience as much as you can of it.
Of course, this is best answered and achieved by staying at a Bangkok hotel near the Skytrain. The city’s rapid (and we should probably mention, air-conditioned) public transport system includes the MRT Subway and the BTS Skytrain—and both of them connect to the Airport Link train which will take you to and from Suvarnabhumi International Airport.
Let’s take a look at why that is. We will start from VIE Hotel Bangkok, MGallery Hotel Collection, which is located in the center of the city, in the exciting commercial district (yes, where all the huge and acclaimed shopping malls are, and they are only one stop away from the hotel!), literally a one minute’s walk from the Ratchathewi station. This is a Bangkok hotel near the Skytrain with a location that gives you a convenient trip to any of the end-stations of the Skytrain and is not far from the interchange with the MRT Subway or the Airport Link.
Our favourite is the BTS Skytrain, and we consider it essential to book a Bangkok hotel near the Skytrain.
The BTS Skytrain takes you directly to some of the best places in the capital of Thailand. In one direction, find the enormous Chatuchak Weekend Market. Another takes you all the way down bustling and fun Sukumvit Road. And an easy transfer takes you all the way to the mighty Chao Phraya River, where you can get a boat to the beautiful temples and fascinating Asiatique market.
